Orange Pumpkins!!

Halloween is almost here! The kids are excited, especially because today we started making Halloween crafts. Today since we talked about the color orange, we made paper mache pumpkins. Flour and water was mixed to make an Ooey-Gooey paste. It was fun to play in, kinda like playing in white mud. So they can dry, we will paint them orange next time in class.

We then baked Pumpkin Cookies with yummy chocolate chips. We read, and colored "Farmer Mouse's Pumpkin", coloring book. The story showed us how a pumpkin is grown. We learned that a pumpkin is turned into a Jack-O-Lantern, when we carve it.

The best part of today was our trip to Farmer Robert's Pumpkin Patch! We rode on a trailer pulled by Farmer Roberts and his tractor over to the pumpkin patch were we were able to pick out our very own pumpkins to take home. It was the perfect day! The sun was shinning and warm, perfect for pumpkin picking!
